1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you use Klozzete:
Account information that you provide:
- Email address
- Password (stored as an encrypted hash, never in plain text)
- Preferred name and AI stylist name
- Age range
- Location or zip code (optional, for weather-based recommendations)
Style preferences that you provide during onboarding or in settings:
- Preferred styles, colors, and fits
- Modesty and cultural clothing preferences
- Jewelry and makeup preferences
- Outfit needs (work, school, gym, events, etc.)
Content you upload:
- Photos of clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, and other items
- Item names, categories, tags, and notes you provide
Usage information automatically collected as you use the app:
- Outfits you save, reject, or rate
- Items you mark as worn or favorited
- Laundry and availability status of items
- AI chat history with your stylist
- Device type, operating system, and app version
- General usage patterns (which features you use, how often, when)
We do NOT collect:
- Your real name, unless you choose to share it as your preferred name
- Your phone number
- Your physical address (only optional zip code for weather)
- Your government ID, social security number, or financial account details
- Photos of your face or body, unless you upload them yourself
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide you with personalized outfit recommendations from your closet
- Process your uploaded photos with AI to identify clothing details
- Learn your style preferences over time (your "Style DNA")
- Send you outfit suggestions, weather-based reminders, and other notifications you have enabled
- Improve the Service and develop new features
- Respond to your support requests
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
We do NOT:
- Sell your personal information or photos to third parties
- Share your photos with advertisers
- Use your uploaded photos to train AI models for anyone other than you
- Make assumptions about your religion, ethnicity, body type, or identity based on your uploads
3. AI Processing of Your Photos
When you upload a photo of a clothing item, we send the photo to trusted third-party AI providers that analyze the image to identify the item's category, color, style, and other details. We may also use third-party image-processing providers to enhance your photos, such as removing the background. These providers process your images solely to deliver these features to you and are contractually prohibited from using your images for their own purposes. We do not use these services to identify people, faces, or bodies — only clothing items.
You can review and edit every AI-generated label before saving an item.

4. How We Store and Protect Your Information
Your data is stored on secure servers operated by our infrastructure providers, hosted on established cloud platforms. We use industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS / TLS)
- Encryption of passwords at rest (hashed and salted)
- Access controls that prevent other users from accessing your data
- Regular security reviews and updates
While we work hard to protect your information, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and you use the Service at your own risk.
5. Who We Share Your Information With
We share information only as necessary to operate the Service:
- Service providers that help us run Klozzete, including our database and storage host, AI and image-processing providers, payment processor, analytics provider, and error-monitoring provider. - Legal authorities if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Klozzete, our users, or the public.
- A future buyer or successor if Klozzete is acquired, merged, or sold. We will notify you and you will retain your rights under this Policy.
We do not sell your information to advertisers or data brokers.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You have the following rights regarding your information:
- Access: View your data through the Klozzete app at any time.
- Edit: Update your preferences, AI stylist name, preferred name, and other settings in the Profile screen.
- Delete content: Remove individual items, outfits, or saved data from within the app.
- Delete your account: Permanently delete your account and associated data through the Profile screen. This action cannot be undone.
- Export your data: Download a copy of your data from within the app.
- Opt out of notifications: Turn off daily outfit suggestions, weather-based reminders, or new feature alerts in Profile.
If you are located in California, the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another region with specific privacy laws (such as CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, or UK GDPR), you may have additional rights including the right to object to processing, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a regulator. 7. Children's Privacy
Klozzete is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at team@klozzete.com and we will delete the account.
For users between 13 and 17, we recommend parental review of these terms and supervision of use.
8. Data Retention
We keep your account and data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records (such as financial records for tax purposes) or where retention is necessary to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
Backups may take longer to fully purge but are not actively used and are eventually overwritten.
9. International Data Transfers
Klozzete is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have data protection laws different from your country. By using Klozzete, you consent to this transfer.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
Klozzete may include links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (such as app store billing, weather data providers, or future shopping affiliate links). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. Please review their privacy policies separately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you through the app or by email if the changes are significant. Continued use of Klozzete after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Policy.
